Jan Wahlberg Prize
This prize of 2000€ is to encourage a young researcher in the field of contact dermatitis.
The successful individual is also expected to give a lecture during the Congress on the topic of his/her submission.
Candidates must be 45 years old or less and provide a clinical or research work in the field of contact dermatitis that has been recently published within the past 2 years or submitted for publication. The article should be sent to the ESCD secretariat by the 16th of April 2010. Confidentiality will be maintained if the work has not already been published.

Travel grants
10 travel grants are available for junior researchers who have submitted an abstract to the Congress.
The grants are 1 000 € and will be given as a cheque to be drawn on a UK bank.
Individuals must be under 35 years old and can apply by submitting their abstract to the ESCD Secretariat together with a brief (1 page) curriculum vitae by the 16th of April 2010.
To be an ESCD member is not obligatory but the abstract must be accepted for presentation at the congress. Please submit your proposal to the ESCD Secretary by mail or by express mail.

ESCD: the official language of all sessions, presentations, abstracts and publications is English.
GERDA: the official language of all sessions, presentations, abstracts and publications is French.
No simultaneous translation will be provided.
The Scientific Committee has selected a very exciting programme covering most of the basic and clinical aspects of Contact Dermatitis. The pre-symposium will focus on the prevention of skin allergy in Europe and will stress the need for a break through! Key note lectures and focus sessions will allow to get the latest developments and knowledge on genetic, metabolic, chemical, epidemiological aspects of cutaneous allergy to fragrances, hair and textile dyes, biocides, drugs, plants, etc… Many sessions will be devoted to clinical aspects of hand eczema, atopy, type I reactions, irritancy, photo contact dermatitis, etc… Participants will have opportunities to share and discuss their research and clinical experiences during free communication and poster sessions.
One speaker will give an update on his/her area of expertise.
These sessions will address 4-6 contributions, presented by invited experts and speakers chosen by the Scientific Committee from selected abstracts.
In these sessions authors will present free communications and relevant case reports from selected abstracts.
Posters selected from abstracts submission will be displayed during the entire duration of the Congress in the Agora area. Some posters will be selected for short discussion during a dedicated session.
These two concurrent sessions will be held on 15th September and they are open to registered delegates as well as to any person whishing to attend this portion of the programme only. Pre-registration and fee are required to sign up to attend either session. Please refer to the registration form for conditions.
Portuguese and Spanish speaking dermatologists will meet to share experiences on September 15th. Participation in this session will be on invitation only.
